This course presents artificial life through the lens of simulated and/or synthesized life and life-like processes. It begins by discussing the history of artificial life, or Alife. This course provides students with the opportunity to study the life-like processes that arise from biological and chemical phenomena, mathematical and computational models, and physical models of a variety of statistical and dynamical systems.
