The student will be introduced to the theories, concepts, and practices that align with business project management. In BUSN663, the student will be guided through how the business, outside environment, and other areas that affect a project. The student will also be exposed to the Project Management Institute’s talent triangle and the 10 knowledge areas from the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide). Through BUSN664, students will delve into the concepts of practical applications creating the scope and the schedule, as well as create a project management plan that will include the scope statement, Work Breakdown Schedule (WBS), activity definition, resource allocation, activity duration estimation, schedule creation, and critical path identification. In BUSN665, the student will learn about project risks, their effect on other project constraints and how to manage them, as well as the quality requirements and processes for a project. Most importantly, the student will have the opportunity to practice several tools and techniques provided in this course.
